LOS ANGELES, 2009 – Highly anticipated up and coming fashion designer, Hugh Simms, launches his 2009 signature Caulfield Collection of neckties. The collection has attracted the attention of many fashion insiders as they define their style with Hugh Simms’s distinctive “Ivy League Grit” style; classic prep school patterns with a disheveled American edge.

Carrying the namesake of its Los Angeles based designer, The HUGH SIMMS label, represents a belief that intelligence can come equipped with a strong arm and a hasty mind. Simms believes that “Intelligence is Sexy” and as an Ivy League graduate, advisor to the Library of Congress and an avid surfer, Simms certainly personifies this mantra.

A believer of American craftsmanship, Simms prides himself upon having his accessories and garments handmade in Los Angeles and being part of the revival of LA’s once thriving fashion manufacturing industry. Simms is a firm believer that “to make clothing with a true American style it needs be made by American hands.”

The Caulfield Collection is available exclusively at www.HUGHSIMMS.com and will soon be available through limited engagements in LA, New York City and Miami. In 2009, Simms plans to incorporate a new accessory line into the collection.

About HUGH SIMMS: As CEO and Head Designer, Simms leads a team of experienced and highly accomplished colleagues who focus on successfully operating and expanding the HUGH SIMMS label. Amongst Simms’s team members are two close friends from Cornell University who have planned to launch a business together since their days in the Ivy League. Simms’s colleagues draw from past professional experiences in developing world-class brands, marketing luxury-hotel real estate, managing world-class nightclubs and operating premier cruise ships. Through this experience, the HUGH SIMMS team cultivated a dedication to service and excellence which is a consistent theme in their brand aesthetic.

Additionally, HUGH SIMMS is proud to be partnering with The Workshop, a “creative collective” that builds brands through an integrated 360-degree marketing platform. HUGH SIMMS is focused on developing into a global brand with the eventual launch of a full line of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel.
