Freshjive logoFreshjive was founded in 1989 by Rick Klotz. A native of Los Angeles and practitioner of L.A. lifestyle, Rick was always searching for an avenue to combine his influences. With a passion for graphic design, Klotz cut his teeth designing flyers for various club and music scenes bubbling in his area during the mid to late eighties. In 1989, his design skills and style segued from the paper medium to the cloth, and Freshjive was born.

Considered by some as a catalyst to the streetwear segment, Freshjive rooted itself in Los Angeles culture, drawing influences from hip hop, punk, surf, skate, and various art. Since it was conceived, the quality and style of the brand has been complimented by political and social commentary, as well as humor.
