‘Skeg’ is an independent streetwear company based in Australia. What is Skeg? This is it. 1979, another hot summer’s day; friends are chilling out, smoking, drinking and skating. Music’s playing loud from the tape deck but it’s almost inaudible over the sound of wheels clanging against the pool side.
A condemned house has been broken into, graffiti added to the already paint laden pool-inside; all of this for the sole purpose of skate. It’s all been done: aerials, variables, kickflips, manuals, ollies and end-overs.
We’re here to create our own style, do our own thing. Countless hours of this day have already been well-spent. Trends change, but sometimes they are something more. Skate – it’s a fucking lifestyle.
Skeg is an independent street wear brand that verifies and solidifies self expression, producing threads for people that appreciate fashion with reason and meaning. Nested in the subculture of skate and punk, the term ‘Skeg’ defines a single skater. However ‘Skeg’ is more than just a slang term to describe a skater but rather a movement and a way of life.
