FORMER WALL STREET TRADER LAUNCHES ECO-FRIENDLY
FASHION LINE CMARCHUSKA
New York, NY–January 2009- After getting laid off in a round of job cuts last May,
former Morgan Stanley associate, Christine Marchuska decided to reinvent herself as a
young entrepreneur—using her severance package and savings totaling about
$40,000—she launched her dream business: an eco-friendly, sustainable clothing line.
She went to work studying the garment industry, taking fashion courses, and throwing
herself headfirst into a completely new line of business. Christine gradually developed
some early designs and business plans for a chic women’s line of sustainable clothing.
And in November 2008, cmarchuska was born.
Geared toward today’s trendsetting, socially conscious woman, cmarchuska makes each
piece domestically in New York City’s Garment District out of sustainable fabric blends,
recycled, and organic materials. cmarchuska will be debuting their Fall/Winter ’09
Signature Collection, of versatile knit basics and dresses that are made from the finest
organic/recycled material, at the ECOCOLLECTION/MAGIC fashion trade show in Las
