Shocking Youth was founded by boyfriend/girlfriend Shocking Jim and Alice Youth in October 2008. Based out of London, UK, the brand draws inspiration from such influences as EIO, Warhol, and Factory Records.

WE REALISE THAT PEOPLE ARE FED UP WITH THE SAME OLD HIGH-STREET TAT, THE SAME APPROPRIATED VISUALS, PISS POOR DESIGNS AND SLOGAN T-SHIRTS THAT SAY ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT THE WEARER, LOST IN THE OCULAR NOISE OF TRANSIENT FASHION. WE REFUSE TO OPERATE IN THIS BLOATED AND REPETITIVE MECHANISM.

YET WE DON’T BUY INTO THE COUNTER CULTURAL MINDSET, NOR THE REBEL DOLLAR AND DON’T EXPECT YOU TO EITHER. WE JUST PROVIDE QUALITY CLOTHING WITH A SUPERIOR AESTHETIC.

Shocking Youth believes in limited small-runs of their garments, to guarantee customers exclusivity of a product. This is why they bestow each design with an individual catalog number to record, register, and celebrate its existence as a limited item. Designs are usually restricted to fifty or one hundred prints in any particular color. Once sold out, no more are created.

In addition, Shocking Youth will occasionally offer individual one-off products for ultimate exclusivity. These will be hand-painted designs on more recognizable brands, and will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

As Shocking Youth puts it best, “This is pop art capitalism, for punks who wear dunks.”
